Welcome to 2025!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It is hard to believe that 2024 has come and gone and it seemed to fly by! We could even look at this past year as “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” Thank you Charles Dickens!
As the end of the year came to a close, I looked back at 2024 not just in travel, but the year itself. We cannot change what happened in 2024, but what we can do is learn from it and then determine, what do we really want to get out of 2025.
This can be different for everyone. I will share what it means to me. Each new year brings anticipation, excitement, wonder, and all the awe that a new adventure can bring. After losing our home in 2019, it was a way for all of us to look at what we had, what we lost, what we needed, and what we wanted. Wants and needs are two different things, but I soon came to realize they are different but yet the same.
When we lost our home, there were just a couple of things that I wanted so desperately to salvage: my family’s well-being; and pictures of family, friends, trips, things, and memories that were important to me. I was lucky enough that 90% of our pictures were salvageable, but all my baby pictures were gone. In the blink of an eye. I could still see some of them when I closed my eyes.
I didn’t NEED them to be happy, but I wanted them. What I learned is that it isn’t the things we have that make us happy all the time, it’s the memories we have with our family and our friends. The experiences that we share. That is something that can never be taken away from us. Those are the moments that stay in our hearts for a lifetime.
When I look at what 2025 holds, I think about the trips, the experiences, the moments that we will have as friends, as family, and in helping my clients to get the most out of every adventure they book. The adventure is out there for 2025, and now we have the opportunity to TAKE IT! Here is to 2025 and all it has in store! Work hard, but remember to vacation harder!
